what eats hair algea in the wild
I don't have any, but I see peoples tanks who have it. I was wondering what controls it in nature.

Herbivorous fish, lots or them. There is also the consideration that the nutrients build up that we experience in an aquarium is nothing like in nature so the outbreak that we might have isn't similar to a natural algae outbreak. But again, herbivorous fish and various invertebrates like Sea Urchins help naturally control algae.
