2 softies, turf war

Can an Actinodiscus hurt a Yellow Leather (Sarcophyton)?
The reason I ask is that my Sarcophyton hasn't looked too great recently. It does still open up but it got that brown coating for a while and I just thought it was needing to shed some skin. I aimed a powerhead in that direction for some added help and it did help but still doesn't look like it should. There is an actinodiscus right beside it and when it's opened up full they touch. I think this may be the problem. Anyone else think so?

I think it may be a problem if they physically touching each other, and, I think that mushrooms win in most cases if that happens. Leathers compete very well chemically but I've never seen them win in physical competition against muchroom.

The only thing that I haven't seen mushrooms have much of an effect on is zooanthids, at least that's been my experience. Can you move either coral?

Might be time to frag the Actinodiscus, rent it a U-Haul, and give it a "local move!"

Once again I put on my evil grin and went to injecting them with vinegar...no more touching. I hope the leather recovers.
