Bubble Coral Question

My bubble coral is expanded to the max. So much, you can see right down inside of it. Is this a good thing? I thought some corals expanded when they weren't getting enough light.

No pic's for awhile, my sister-in-law broke my camera. (might be a blessing in disguise, I needed to upgrade anyway.)

I fed the bubble some frozen mysis today. If expanding is a sign of happiness, then this thing is the happiest thing I have ever seen.

Sure, polyp expansion is a good sign. I think the Plerogyra sp. are very pretty with their pearly white to almost pick colorations. The ones that appear to have a green hue are pretty awesome too!

In nature, this corals are not found in the brightest of locations and I would think they prefer moderate lighting in aquariums. However, I know from my own experience with this corals that they are remarkably adaptive to the brightest of lights. I had mine for years almost on the top of the rocks directly under 250w MH bulb and it showed no ill efects. In fact it grew very nicely.
Anyways, expansion of the polyp may be a good sign but to really tell if coral is happy you'll need to measure it's sceletal growth . Keep feeding it,Gary, and it will grow for you really well.
