My 55g Reef Start

Here are just a few shots of my 55g reef that I have switched from a FOWLR to a Reef tank just here recently.
I have a 20g sump/refugium where I house my macro algae and pods. At the current time I only have 3 fish. There is a Maroon Clown, a Yellow Coris Wrasse, and a Scooter Blenny. I have two anenomes, a Pink Tip and a small BTA as well. There are various snails and hermits. I also have a few corals and 3 starfish.

Here are a few pictures of the start I have so far. I hope you enjoy them.

It looks like you have an overflow box there for a sump? If so, may I suggest you place your heater down there? Also, what about removing the HOT filter? I think you will be just fine without it and it would also help remove some of the equipment from the view of the display.

Yeah, this tank isn't rr, but the one I am looking at upgrading to is. I do need to put my heater down in my sump though. I have thought about removing the hot filter but haven't been sure about this as it is only there for added water movement and a place for running carbon if needed. I have a Coralife Super Skimmer in my sump and it seems to be doing a great job, 1 maxijet 600 powerhead, 3 other smaller powerheads, a zoomed powersweep, and my return line all for water movement. My sump is a 20g long sump/refugium combination that I made myself after getting rid of my wet/dry filter. All of this is on a stand/canopy combination that I added to the top of the canopy so my 400w mh light would be far enough away from the top of my water.

Hopefully within the next 4 or 5 months I will be getting a 90g rr tank and will try to find a way to put my 55 inside my stand for a sump/refugium.

Thanks for all the input. I feel you can never learn enough about this hobby.
