Why do my Star Polyps look like this?

Okay, see the attached picture (sorry for the quality). I have standard green star polyps, the ones with the white centers (I commonly see them without) . Anyway, over time in my aquarium, they grow very long and actually begin to curl. Does anyone know why? I never see them like this in other peoples tanks or in pictures.

It's because your coral is happy! Polyp extension is a good thing, from what I understand. Mine have done the same thing, and are growing VERY fast.

could it be the ammount of light they are getting? before you noticed this happening did you upgrade yout light or possibly move the stars to a spot in your tank thats getting more light? i have noticed that my button polyps are curling around simmlerly to your stars when i moved them to a place in the tank that gets more light.
