too much current

first of all I got two inlets one in the corner(sea swirl) and one in the middle (hard line) both pointing the same direction couldnt put any thing in the oppisite corner every thing I put there had the whipping Look in the current. So this morning I put the one that was in the middle to the opp side of the sea swirl.sure now there is not a whipping current in the one side of the tank.Seems to bee alot of current going on in the tank.180 gallon tank, approx 70 gal sump.I got a rio hyperflow running the tank.1590 GPH which I think is alot. also have two rio's in the tank behind the rocks one on each end . dont know the GPH on those be I know they are not babies.

Aaaah, its not too much. I have a Sequence Barracuda (4500 gph) on a CL with two 1" Sea Swirls and 2x3/4" returns plus I use another cuda pump for sump return...this is on a 120 gal tank.

If you have sand and its not moving then you don't have enough flow If you have bare bottom and the rocks aren't moving then you don't have enough flow

I the corner where there was to much the sand was moving moing 3 inch of sand to expose bare glass about every two days .....I think I might be OK now that I put it in the opp corner of the sea swirl.

Never too much flow...4,000gph total turnover in our 75-gallon tank. 2-Streams, 4-MJ's, and return pump.
