Bubble Tip

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out?
My tank has been running for over a year and I bought a bubble tip. It has been in the tank for 3 days now and it was fine but this morning it's all shrivelled up but still attached to the rock. Is there a problem?

Hi GotTanked,

It could be just that anemone is expelled all the water in order to defecate( quite natural behavior). I would give it a bit more time before starting to worry. This process can take sometimes 30 minutes and sometimes longer than that. Did you fed it at all since you got it?

PS. Here's an article for you to read about anemones http://www.reefland.com/rho/0505/main4.php

It's perfectly normal. If you read enough about them, you find obscure references to "deflating"... they often do this after they eat, and usually do it when you want to show them to company (...and they say anemones don't have brains!).

The longer I own my BTA, the less he does it, but I don't freak out anymore when he does....
