anemone moving

my bulb anemone keeps on moving around - he eats plenty of frozen krill, etc. - lots of water movement and good lighting. it is more irritating than anything because sometimes it is hard to see or he moves over my corals. any suggestion or comments? thanks. andrew

I have one that stayed in the same spot even with a lighting change for over a year. Then one day it decided to go on a walkabout and ended up on the glass for a week or so. Then it went back to it's original spot and has stayed for the last few months. Unfortunatly it harshed my bubble coral on it's way. Who knows why they do the things they do.

How long has it been in your tank? It might just be trying to find a happy mixture of light and flow.

Hi krueger_crown21,

I have to agree with TGR, some time anemones will move in search for a better(more suitable) spot even after they were in the previous spot for a few weeks or even month. Had anything changed in the tank since you got your anemone? And of course, it would help if you provided more information on the time period since you place it in the tank and what exactly is the situation with your flow and lighting.

Send a message via MSN to romunov
Give it a good hiding place! A hollow rock, a balanid live rock, PVC tubing, clay funnel... Whatever looks best.

My 5 yo anemone seems to want to find a new home about once a year.
