Can someone check my ID job???
We picked up this frag at one of our local stores; I think it's a favia, but the guy at the store couldn't tell us for sure
. He could show us a full size piece, saying "I think it's this," but he still couldn't even give us a name of that!!!!Anyway, can someone confirm that this is favia (or not)? Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very hard to tell from the pictures but I would guess it is from the Favia Genus. They are about impossible to identify down to the species level. The main difference betweeen Favia and Favites is that Favia have separate corallite walls while Favites share corallite walls.
As it matures it should grow into a dome shaped colony. HTH, Kevin

Thanks -- sorry that I couldn't get better pics -- and it's so small that it's hard to really tell all of its features. I appreciate your help!
