I think my clownfish are ready to spawn but are afraid to due to the other inhabitants of the tank. I was thinking of moving them to the refugium area of my sump until they spawn. I am thinking of plumbing a small 2 gallon tank to the system that will use a small powerhead to draw water into the "breeder" and the return would gravity feed back to the main system. Once the clowns spawn the eggs, I would then move them from the refugium to the breeder. I will fit the return of the breeder with cotton filter so the fry won't get sucked out. I've been reading Joyce Wilkerson's book on clownfish and wanted to try benefit from the volume of water in my main system. Does anyone see any issue that this setup might have that I'm missing?
