Changing SPS

As far as I can tell this piece is doing well, it is growing, but the color has changed DRAMATICALLY!

When I bought it:

One Month later:

Last Week:

Does it look like it is bleaching? Or is it just changing color? It GLOWS under actinics all the way to the base, so I know there is still tissue there.

Hi Mike,

Those are definitely NOT bleached, in fact they look really good. Both look like they have improved coloration to me.

Hi Mike,
Both of the corals look like a typical response to higher lighting conditions than where they came from. Even if they came from the same lighting, increased water clarity can produce the same result.

Regards,
Kevin
PS: The second one looks very much like A. tenuis.

Mike,

I think that's a tort correct? If it is mine looked exactly the same as your before and after pics....Right now mine looks like your one month later pic but it's growing and appears very healthy to me. My frag is much smaller though.
Good luck.

Thanks for the re-assurance guys!

Samper, that is not my Tort, I thought it may have been when I bought it. I do have a Tort now though, and there is NO mistaking the 2 side by side.

Mike,

Like Kevin said, the corals simply had adjusted and are doing really well( read real kudos to the reefkeeper) and showing their real colors.

By the way, I still think that first picture you posted is of A.pulchra. When it grows up I want a frag of it.

Thanks for the compliment Gene! You are first on my list for frags when they get big enough!
