Well, today was the day....
I have been thinking about adding a Goniapora to my LPS tank for the last 6 months. I think they are one of the most beautiful LPS there is, but have been hesitant because I have read all the horror stories on this site and others about how hard they are to keep.
So I walked into my LFS today, and they had received a new shipment yesterday. In their LPS tank was the best looking green flower pot I had ever seen. I have never seen one that looked as healthy as this one. It is about 3 inches wide, and the polyps extend about 3". They cut me a good deal ($38), and I have been keeping other LPS with great success for the last 2 years, so I am going to give it a shot.
What are mandatory water parameters that I should be testing for the best chance of success? I've got test kits for calcium, phosphate, nitrate, and pH. What else do you suggest? Any other tips for caring for this coral?
