What is this???? Please help!!!
Please help...I have a 500 gal. salt water reef tank and I have this coral/algae that has taken over my tank and I need to know exactly what it is and how I can get rid of it. If anyone knows, please help me out. I was told on another site that it is a form of caulerpa macro algae. Is this true and what is caulerpa macro algae and how do you get rid of it? Thanks for you help. Here is the link to the picture of it: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/BeamerB/tankweed.jpg |

Yeah, thats a macro algae, and it will invade and grow just like a weed, to remove it, you would need to pull the rock it is on out of the tank and scrub it off since just pulling it off the rock never usualy gets rid of it all. If you have a refuge/sump area that is lighted, macro algae can be usefull in exporting nutrients. This link has some good articles within it.
