Lawnmower Blenny

A friend of mine is moving and no longer has room for her tank and is giving away her Blenny. It is a Lawnmower Blenny who is about 3.5 in long and has been eating brine cubes. My tank is about a 5 weeks old and I currently have 2 blue green chromis, 2 blue damsels, 6 snails and 6 hermits 3 bue 3 red. I have a couple of questions.

1. I thought Blennies ate algea, if so will he be able to make it in such a new tank?

2. Do lawnmower blennies sift sand?

Ive read some sights that say they will and some that say they wont.

I just added him to my tank last night and he seems to be doing well. My concern is making sure he is going to be able to make it in my tank due to it being so new and there not being enough for him to eat. I bought some algea cubes to supplement his diet but will that be enough. I need some input to decide if I should take him to my LFS and see if I can trade him in. I dont see the point in keeping him if Im just going to kill him. All input is appreciated and thanks in advance.

you can also try feeding him bloodworms , mine loves bloodworms.. theyre some blennies that do sift thru the sand, but my particular lawnmower blenny doesnt, i guess cause he finds a home inside a rock, i guess some do just to make a home or for a place to hide..

i think 5 weeks is ok, actually mine made thru the ammonia spike accidentally :slap: .. thats cause he was healthy.

hope this helps..
