Question Regarding Live Rock

Does anyone know the going price for live rock?

Also what is better cured or uncured?

found a place i can get 25lbs of caribbean live rock for 75$ good price or not?

Another question about this if i mix live rock with dead coral will it gradualy grow on the the dead coral in the tank?

It's always better to buy cured LR unless you are cycling a tank and then it doesn't matter. I'd recommend to quarantine it to make sure you aren't getting any pests with it such as aiptasia, mantis's or any other pest you see mentioned on the boards. The average I pay for LR when I rarely buy it is between 4 and 6 bucks.....I would never pay any more than that and even those prices stink. There is a debate whether base rock can ever amount to LR and personally I don't know but it can sure look the same after a while.

About 1/3 of my live rock began as base rock...now only I know what started as what. If you're patient, you can go halves between good quality LR and cheaper base rock. It'll save you some serious cash and watching the transformation can be very rewarding.
