    Dual skimmers ok?

Would there be any advantage or disadvantage on using a aqua c remora pro and a cpr bak pak on a 125 gal softy tank. A sump is out of the question.

    Hi randymon,

There is no disadvantage other than running 2 pumps to power both of them which will take a bit more electricity. The advantages are:
    Plenty of skimming capacity
A backup just in case one goes out
Plenty of exercise emtpying 2 skimmer cups.

Anthony Calfo actually recommends using two different skimmers per system. His reasoning is that one might pull something out that the other wouldn't and vice versa.

I agree with Mr. Calfo's observations. I run 2 different skimmers on my 55 and the skimmate looks different between the 2. I'm happy with my results!

Just tell your wife that having a tank teaches you all sorts of new DIY skills...which will save lots of money around the house...so you can buy more stuff for your tank...so you can learn more skills...

I also run two skimmers on my 120 gal. One skimmer in sump, and the other is an Aqua C Pro HOB.
