LFS wants my Leather

My LFS wants this leather as a show piece in their front of store show aquarium. I was originally going to frag it out for trading, but they stopped me and want it for show. Does anybody have any idea what I could ask for this piece? I told them that I'd prefer store credit for other corals. Anybody have any ideas? The rock is approximately 8 inches by 10 inches and is about 75% covered with the leather colony. I have attached a pic of the colony that they want.

Alot of store credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The LFS around here would probably sell that for about $125. That is just a guess, of course.

Figure out something you really want (equipment, maybe) and see if they'll trade you!

I told them that I wanted to trade for some zoos and ricordea. But they are telling me they are having issues getting these items in. So, I'd like to get store credit and then watch for those specimens in the future. Do you think I should ask for $125 in credit? too much....too little?

Thanks

Reggie,

Ask whatever you think this piece is worth to you.

The thing is, this colony started from a 20$ piece. I have fragged this out to 6 other areas in my tank. This is the largest one and I felt it was time to trade it for something. Mind you this piece was bought many many years ago, so technically I'd only need $20 for the original investment (we all know that's not gonna happen) I am just trying to get a feel for what the market would support, I will then know an average and take a stab at what to ask the LFS.

You've fed it and nourished it for many many years - add some inflationary costs, and ask for what it is worth! Don't be shy! The LFS certainly won't sell you corals at their cost!

I'd go higher and see what they say! Shoot for $150. What's the worst that can happen?

Samper , you have a PM...

I will definitely shoot on the high side. Don't want to scare them off due to building a relationship with them, though. They get their corals from ORA and always seem to be nice, just a little pricey.
