what is the difference between a fish only tank to a reef tank ?
Fish only tank is a tank where your focusing on just careing for fish, with possibly a choice coral or 2 but not always. Someone who doesnt want to care for corals or inverts would keep a fish only tank. The name sais it all....Fish Only Tank
Just the opposite with a reef tank, although I think most folks that keep reef tanks also keep reef safe fish in with it as well and also inverts which I dont think you will find too many of in a fish only tank. But with a reef tank your trying to accomplish the perfect reef setting for you and your fish to enjoy....everything you would find on a reef in the ocean you could find in a REEF tank. Hence the name......Reef Tank.
This is just my opinion of what each is although Im sure everyone has their own ideas on what a tank is called and what inhabitants are in a so called tank, this is the basic idea from a pretty basic person![]()

Let this one be simple, there are many many more questions that are complicated!
