i did see brown polyps still where there was the bleaching though, so its no sighns of tissue loss

There are two things you can do:
1. Get the tank lighting back to normal for the coral.
2. Get the lighting on a timer so the light cycle is predictable and constant.
because i still have polyps out mean its gonna be ok? and i had a timer on it but had a small problem with one so ditched it and good brand of timer better than the next?

It is very hard to say what the coral will do from here. You will just have to continue to watch it closely. As for the timer, I don't think so. I use the $5 timers from Wal-Mart myself.
