I want YOUR feedback
OK.
Every single person I have talked to has had a different answer to this questions so I would like to hear everyones input to make sure I am taking the appropriate measures to maintaining a stable tank. I have stuff that I have researched and made decisions on however that doesn't mean that it's the best so I want to be prepared if something isn't working to switch to something that others have had success with. What do you use??? EVERYTHING!!! I WANT A LIST OF EVERYTHING YOU PUT IN YOUR TANK! Food, calcium stuff, ammonia stuff, any additives? I will have about 5 fish, inverts, polyps, corals, and live rock. I appreciate your help! Remember, EVERYTHING YOU PUT IN YOUR TANK |

I am not sure what you are asking, but as far as additives I only use b-ionic a couple times a week, I try to do bi weekly water changes of 5g in my 100g tank. That is it, I feed my fish a variety of frozen food, but I do not feed my corals anything specific they get what the fish don't.
You are going to keep 5 fish how big is your tank? What you want to look at if have a healthy successful tank is not just supplements, it is your lights, skimmer, macro algae, Live rock#'s, live sand. It really starts at the living stuff in the tank and patience, you must give it time to cure before you start dumping in live stuff. Almost everyone here that posts has learned that slow and steady is the way to go when you want a healthy tank.

Here's a picture of my old 150 gal sps tank....I used a Ca reactor, Klak reactor and feed the fish flake food. That's about it.

Mark,
I loved colors in that tank. I totally agree with what golfish said, KISS method always worked for me and I think if you can keep your water in your tank as close as possible to the NSW, you can have pretty darn good reeftank. Here's a picture of my 75g tank that I had to demolish almost completely due to overgrowth of corals. The "overgrowth" occured just by using a calcium reactor and doing scheduled water changes, plus I fed my tank a whole lot. ![]()

I agree, keep it simple, and keep away from playing with the waters chemistry with additives, calcium/alk being about the only exception. There is no magic "make me a reef" supplement contrary to what you may hear. A system that maintains itself as much as possible is by far the best way to go, in my opinion. Alot of what you are asking also depends a great deal on what you plan to keep. Try to avoid the "one of everything" as it never works in the long term. For more details on how I manage my tank, and what I use and dont use, please feel free to check it out.... MY TANK
