It begins:

I just finished re-finishing my old canopy. Soon the lights will be up and running. I have 2-75 white and 2 75 super actinic t12 VHO on a 20L. SO my question is this: clams? or no? wait till i get the MH?

thanks

Jamie

Jamie,
I've kept clams in a 55 under 4x55 watt PC's. Derasa's and Squamosa's will probably do the best under your lights. That said, lots of people will probably tell you you don't have enough light and you should have MH's.

I think you can probably try out a Derasa under that lighting.

Don't forget, his tank is a 20L (30"L x 12"W x 12"H). A Derasa will get too big, too fast for such a small tank.

Naw, I don't think it will be a problem.....They can take up some room that's for sure but they'll be fine. Water quality is going to be the key.
