Coral secretion
My 46 gal display crashed a few days ago. Ammonia levels were off the charts! So, I ste up a 20 gal tank and moved my corals there (LPS+leather). After placing the corals in the 20 gal, I noticed that they started releasing this white, silky and milky stuff. I tried to pick as much of that stuff with a net. Any ideas on what it might be?
The corals have not opened all the way, but I figure that they went through some pretty heavy stress. |

It's coral mucus (slime). It's a reaction to environmental stress.
