need help with my test tank

need help with my test tank

my test tank has been up for about 4 mo. its a test to c if i can get the hang of this reef tank stuffi stated off with acouple of t5 fixtures the i got a 250w mh 6500k bulb and ballast off ebay cheap. its been up for 2 weeks now and i got some nastey brown algee on the glass i have to clean every hour and a ton of bubbles all over the tank if any one can help let me know my big tank will be here in a few weeks

yes i came back fine i live 50yards from the fish store yhey did the testing i have a pick in my gallery of it nothing has dies my mush. are spreading good

usually brown algae is a sign of poor water quality or high phos. my tank had lots of algae blooms at within the first 4 months too, then one day it totally subsided. i guess you just have to battle it for a while, get your water quality really good and keep it that way. it will eventually go away or at least become less frequent. still, even with perfect water one will have to clean algae off the glass once in a while.

im doing 2water changes a week with ro water and im using reef crystals for my salt its only a 24*18*18 tank i do 5gall. on sunday and 5 gall. thursday do u think the lights jus too much for it
