Hammer coral
So lets just say theoretically that I bought a hammer coral and it is in my tank and there is long pieces of brown mucus extreteing from the head and no polyps are extending........Lets also say that I bought a green brain coral that when I opened the bag from shipping all the green around the mouths was flakeing off....Lets also say that I TOLD these people not to ship usps because they wont do next day delivery and they sent it usps anyways and lets say I didnt get the corals for 48 hours and the water they were shipped in was COLD. Do you think these corals might just need a bit of time to recoup or do you think they dead and doomed during shipping. Also do you think I should just take em outta the tank and except my loses?

Todd,
I don't know what;s up with all that lets say stuff...but the coral in first picture appears to be dead and second is on it's way out as well. Not sure if you want to pursue this with the shipper/vendor but I would, especially if I told them that I wanted to use another shipping company. If there was no other choices but the usps, I would go to a different vendor's site and purchase from where my prefered shipping company was available. I don;t think anymore time in your tank will resurect that first coral.... ![]()

Ok, I figured as much but I like to keep an open mind.......I took out the frogspawn it was definatly dead and I left the brain in there but Im gonna take it out now. These corals were shipped to me by the same guy that shipped me the last frogspawn and all those leathers that were DOA. He was just reimbursing me for the dead ones. Im certainly not going to buy from him again thats for sure and certain. He did already refund me part of my money and Ill get the rest of it be sure of that heh. As far as the shipping goes, what kind of dip stick would ship it regular post office anyways my gosh, especially after I specificly told him his shipping stunk and he needed to get the corals here faster than 3 days. Oh well, Im done with him, Im just gonna stick with my reefland sponsors heh.
Oh and a few others that Ive found to be quite good. It actually works out for me since Ive got plans for some sps. That guy needs to get a clue on shipping though. That makes a total of 6 corals that he shipped to me that were dead in the bag before they even got to me.Todd |
