Hi
wonderfull pics if you do not have too much water movement or subject movement , if your camera will let you go for a little longer exposure and increase the stop to give you more depth of field more will be in focus use a tripod or something to steady camera .Getting up close with macro lens opens a whole new world

actually i did all of that![]()
nice- is that color on the frogspawn really red or is it just the lighting?
never seen one that color before.
lets see a whole tank shot!
i beg your pardon its just i may not know much about reefs yet but i used to make a living from a camera and the diference between a super shot and the perfict one so small some times and you never know who is looking at your work and it may be just what they want and much cheeper than comisisoning a photo . the first one is worth framing . look forward to seeing some more
regards

Optical- yeah thats the right color, all i did in photoshop was adjust the levels, i am too lazy to do much postprocessing. As for a full tank shot my girlfriend stole my lenses and only left me my 110macro, and i cant back up far enough to get a full tank shot...i will take one when i get back
Firefox-thanks for the compliments. I am a photograph "enthusiast" and would really appreciate any advice. The first one is my favorite too witht eh second one a close second.
any suggestions to newbies on how to come out with beautiful pics of your tank like these. they are simply beautiful and thanks for the inspiration to keep going, some days i wonder if its worth ot all, but then something happens in the tank, and i say HE __ YEAH!
by the way you could you list whats in those pics for me, im a newbie, thanks
Peachykeen, the biggest trick I have found for tank pics is the macro setting on the digital cam (and supermacro, if your camera has it). If you don't use the macro setting, and try to zoom in, it won't focus well (assuming you've got a digital camera with auto-focus). Charlie, Gene, Mike and Jaime can give you more advanced tips... I'm just a camera novice.

Hmmm... now that the tank is full, I could convert the pool to saltwater...

the best thing to do for photographing tanks is: TURN OFF EVERYTHING!! except the lights. No flow=no blurMacro is really good too, but i think as long as you clean your glass (the tank) and turn off the flow, everything will look sharp. Oh and have fun
It also depends on what you want outta the shot...just take about 400 pictures and you are bound to find one you like! thats what i do!
In the pictures are: 1. bubble coral 2. mushroom 3.frogspawn 4. candy cane 5. green finger 6.cleaner shrimp
good luck and if i can help at all drop a line
jamie
....and don't forget to take the algae clip and thermometer off the front glass!
