ID please

is this a snail?...it has no shell...mostly it travels as a ball about the size of a pea, but does flatten out, at times...thanks

Could you get a better(closer in focus) shot? It looks like it does have a shell to my eye, but before I make a complete fool of myself I'd like to see a closer image, though.
Looks a bit like a small Trochoidean snail, possibly Collonista sp. but I am not sure at this point.

I could throw alot of maybes at ya, but to get an actual ID on it, you would have to remove it from the tank, place it in a shallow container with just enough water to cover it fully and get some good close up detailed photos of it.

I can't give you a scientific name, but I have about 1000 of these in my tank. They are herbivores, will reproduce, and are completely reefsafe.

OK now, from this angle it looks more like Stomatella sp. snail...
Like Charles said, it would help alot if you could photograph it in a shallow dish. The white "blob" or whatever it is is not the shell, the shell is the colorful part with white zig-zag pattern on it.

thanks guys.....are they safe fr the tank?.....another question.....i have tons of teeny-tiny white baby snails (i think) all over my glass....do i start picking these things out? or what?....also, what do you do w/ them after you get them out?.....i hate being inhumane to anything

Keep them, the white snails are probably juveniles. Mine are white when small. These guys do nothing but good.
