Question Yet another Clean-up Crew Question...

I am thinking of ordering a "Reef relief" clean up crew as well as a "classic" clean up crew from FFExpress. My question is this: The Reef Relief CUC has some starfish in it, and I have clams in my tank....I've heard never to mix the two as the starfish will most likely make a tasty snack out of the clams. I have also heard that there are some starfish that don't bother clams. Has anyone ordered this CUC, and if so have you had problems with these starfish and clams? The starfish that come with the crew are: black hawaiian brittle star, red or black banded serpent star, and either a red fromia or orange knobby star depending on what is available. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

I've never ordered a clean up crew package, It seems that most (if not all) of the MO Fish retailers sell inverts that are not reef-safe along with the package. I find it better to design your own package. Exchange a few emails with the owners of a few MO companys, and see if you can get one of them to let you design your own Clean up crew package with a discount equivelent if not close to the packages that they have available. Big Ed!
How's the new tank going? Hadn't heard much since you got it.
You might check out http://www.reeftopia.com for clean up crew critters. They have some excellent prices (40 cents on Astreas) and you get free shipping if you order $99 or more. They also have some other stuff, but their snails are about as cheap as anywhere I have found. I've never ordered from them, but heard good things from those who have.
FWIW, Nathan

Question

What do you think about GARF's reef janitor packages?

The red formia or fromia star is a stuitable star for a reef tank. Personally I do not like hermits im all for snails and worms. I think there are better choices then GARF although they offer the same critters they have problems with shipping and getting the things you want to the right place.
