I think it should answer some of your questions about lighting a reeftank.
My LFS told me that true actinic 03 lighting is the most beneficial lighting for anemones & soft corals.
I am under the impression that actinic lighting is used to make the aquarium look nicer.
I am currently using 4-65 watt PC lighting and have 2-10,000k bulbs & 2-actinic bulbs.
Is the LFS guy right? Should I use more actinic lighting or just leave it alone?
Also, do they make 14,000k bulbs for PC?
If so would this be a good choice?
I see alot of people asking what kind of lights to get, but no one explains what spectrum lighting or what type of bulb is best and why.
Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, actinic lighting is more for the appearance. You get the most use out of full spectrum daylight bulbs. Or better yet, bulbs from the 6500k to 10000k range.
Thanks. That article was very informative. That is the kind of information I have been looking for.
If you know of any websites or other articles or a good book on this subject please let me know. Your help is much appreciated.
I think I will go with 2-65 watt 10,000k & 2-65 watt 50/50 bulbs.
Thanks again!!!![]()
