My guess would be that 150 W bulbs should be good. Some coral (the REALLY light craving ones) might restrict you to placing them in the upper half of the tank due to light needs. I've been told that you have no worries with 250 W bulbs but I don't know how 2 bulbs equates. Can anyone verify this?

In the event that you should decide to upgrade to sps and clams, I think the 250w would be a better choice. For what you want to do now, these would probably be OK, but then you would have to upgrade,ie., spend more money later. Get it over with one purchase, then you open up all your options.

thanks guys..
okay, i don't want to build them myself.....and, it has to mount in my canapy (8" off work space) or sit on a glass top (i prefer to get rid of the top, but am going to jumpers in my tank....so... is there a lighting system recommended w/ these limitations? |
