Could nassurius snails live a cc sand bed?

Probably, but they'd prefer sand. I find mine all over the rocks, glass, and detritus, but when they're done they always tuck back into the sand. Maybe you should wait on the snails until after you change out the crushed coral for a dsb. You know you will, eventually.

what do you guys mean when you say CC? do you mean like those old school big assed chunks of CC, or do you just mean any grade of sand that is not oolitic, sugar sized? cuz i have the snails in reef grade sand, sorry i dont remember the specific name, seaflor or something like that. IMO the snails will be fine, they are very mobile and should have no problem getting around. i know naturally they like to bury themselves, but even with CC, i'm sure they could wiggle there way under!

Mikeman,

I would recommend waiting until after the DSB conversion before adding your nassurius snails.

I don’t know if you have any hermits either, but they often have a taste for nassurius
snails.

Regards,

Scott Passe

YES those stinking hermits do have a taste for nassarious snails, even when there are plenty of appropriate size empty shells around. Seems like every other time I see a nassarious, there's a dad-gummed hermit in it.
