Ok, these look like bad pictures only because the thing is clear, colorless, and looks gelatinous in consistency. There are several of them on the bottom of a piece of live rock. They look like they have tube-like openings coming out of them. For lack of a better description, they look like the jelly part of the jelly fish. Any ideas?

Not positive but I think they are a type of sponge, my son had them in his tank for awhile and I looked them up. Are they a neon green like the pic??

Bubba,
I am not sure but it looks like a tunicate to me. Harmless and very neat creatures.

Bubba,

I can't tell from your pictures, but does it appear to have two openings (siphons)? All tunicates have an oral siphon (incoming) and an atrial siphon (outgoing).

Check out this picture:

Yes, they do have two openings! In fact on the second picture you can see both of them...one of them is on the bottom in the middle pointing down, and the other is pointing out the side to the left.

I was wondering if they were tunicates, but I'd never seen one before, so I didn't know.

Dragonladylea, they are clear and colorless. The greenish tint is from the surroundings/camera settings.
