Closed Loop Pump hours
How many hours a day does my closed loop pump need to run to be effective? I'm cost conscience and don't want to run it more than necessary. I also have a overflow sump and refuge that run separately 24/7. Is it any more effective, or necessary, to run the closed loop 24/7 vs. say 12 hours a day?

For the wear and tear that you are gonna put on the pumps, keep it going 24/7. There isn't going to be that much cost difference anyways. JMHO

If it is concerning you though, I would run the CL pump while the lights are on and shut it off when the lights are out.
