Follow this link to a calculator that will help you determine the amount of sand you will need for your sand bed.
http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/SandBed.htm I am not a lighting expert, but I will try to give you some basics and let others fill in the gaps. Lighting depends on what types of corals you want to keep. Soft corals and a lot of the LPS corals can survive under PC or Power compact lighting. I have 4 X 96 watt PC lighting on my 90 and I have several leathers, a green open brain, a hammer coral, bubble coral, and an elegance coral. All are doing well. If you want to keep SPS corals or clams you probably won't have enough light using only PC or VHO. For these corals I would recommend Metal Halide lighting suplemented with VHO or PC actinic lighting. Decide what you want to keep and plan your lighting around them. I am sure there is a lot of stuff that I missed, but I am sure Ninong or someone else will show up quickly and give you more information than you could possibly digest about the subject. ![]() HTH/JMO, Andrew
