just another lighting ?. or two.
Is it ok to put 2 icecap 430 ballasts in the hood? If not where is the best place? The tank is 72 inches and the wiring supplied is limiting me to the hood. Also, is the heat sink cover meant to cover the ballast, or does the ballast set inside it?

Mounting them in the hood is not a god idea. Ballasts really need to stay dry and COOL if you want them to last a long time. I attached my icecap ballast to the wall right behind the hood so no one can see it and it stays cool.

And the ballast can just sit in the heat sink.
