Crocea Clam

My brother just got a crocea clam. It did great for 4-5 days. Then in the morning we found it on its side. So we figured it didn't like its spot. We moved it down a little and it seem to like it for 1-2 days. Now, the problem is this lawnmover blenny keeps hanging around the clam, and the clam is closed up. The blenny usually stays in his cave like area on the other side of the tank. I was curious if anyone had this problem. I know that the clam needs high light and phytoplankton if needed. I just wanted to know what to do with the blenny if there is anything to do.

Try finding a secure, relatively flat spot somewhere high in your rock structure where the clam will receive as much light as possible. Hopefully the blenny will soon leave it alone.

What I did with my crocea is I bought a small flatish piece of base rock from the lft. I placed this on the substrate with the clam on top. A few days later he was attached to the rock with his foot and then I moved him higher up to a better spot. You can do this with a clam shell also.....they need something hard like rock to plant their foot on.

Yea. I moved it up closer to the light, but it doesn't open up as much as the first few days. The blenny is still bothering it. Hopefully the blenny will stop messing with the clam. Blenny's don't eat clams do they? hahha and i'm not sure sure if the clam is attached to the rock or not.. *shrugs* I put the shell to where the foot of the clam is flat with the rock.
