I guess this is why we take pictures...
I have been despairing that my tank was not progressing as well as I would like It seems like nothing is growing. Well, I finally got out my not so trusty old digital camera and took some pictures of new additions. Some of my older pictures were still in the camera and this one caught my eye. I can't believe how much it has grown. Before I saw the picture, I would have sworn it was on a diet plan.
2/22/2006 And now on 5/5/2006 I have a stag that has grown a lot, too, but it is photo-proof. Every time I take a picture, it looks fine on the camera LCD, but is blurry when I get it on the computer. Maybe it just moves too fast. ![]() |

Not bad in such a short space of time.

Good stuff Doug! You are right about the pictures showing growth that we don't see. Except for my Caps, I would swear NOTHING has grown in my tank, but when I look at the pics, I can see they have for sure.

I'm going to have to do some recording, too. If nothing else, other folk could help me ident some of the hitchers. I'm particularly pleased with a slab of LR that came with 4 or 5 tiny corals - at least, I think they are corals; that is the problem! All of them are organge and open up with a crown of bright yellow fronds. [OK - nowt fancy, but they're mine!]
![]() I suspect I have a tunicate too, ugly little blighter, but interesting to watch for about 30 seconds. The crab and bristleworm that I saw go in have vanished without trace. I'm trying to figure out what I can use to tempt the crab out that won't make the tank sour if it drags it away into some hole... ![]()

Be careful it's not bleaching. I had a coral slowly lighten up like that and I just kept thinking "oh, it's just getting lighter because it's adapting..." Yeah, I said that right up until it was white as ghost. It recovered just fine after I moved it to a less light-intense spot (no tissure recession or anything). I'm just saying... keep an eye on that guy. He looks like he's doing great though!
