was apparently written by a marine biologist and it's, er, a bit poor according to experts. Hence my argument that qualifcations are often less useful than actual real-life experience.
It's the combination of communicated information plus actual experience that makes an expert.
As an aside, I've found that there's often more of a implied crossover in people's ideas about skills than a practical one. I trained originally as an electronics engineer but I can't "do" house wiring. They are both electric, but the devil is in the details.
