Transfer to new Tank: How!?

Hey everyone, it's been a long while since I've been active on the forums, but now is the time for me to ask a question on something I've never had to deal with personally.

My 29gl reef is ready to be upgraded to a new tank (larger). We're thinking either 46g, 72g (both bowfront), or 76g half circle to move up to. The new tank will go in exactly the same place as the current tank, hence my dilema.

Given that I'll definitely have to break the old tank down to make room for the new tank, what do I need to do (steps?) to actually make this transfer a reality? I've been told a few different things from a few LFSs (one day, two months, etc.) and I'm not sure what to go with. I'd hate to kill anything in the tank, as it's very mature and has been thriving for about 8 years in my possesion (a few years with a friend before I inherited it all).

Can this be a one day affair, if I go with live sand and cured LR in the new tank? I'll of couse use all of my old water, but I'm not sure how much 29g will affect a big transfer. Or am I fooling myself into thinking this will be a quick thing, and in reality am I looking at a very long haul?

If anyone has step or suggestions about the actual move I'm all ears.

Thanks.

p.s. in the tank: 6 line Wrasse, Manarin Goby, Serpent Starfish, SPS coral, Leather corals, tons of mushrooms, Xenia, Bubble coral, Polyps, miracle Mud substrate.

Hey there!
There was actually a recent thread on moving a tank, and most of it applies to you, except for the sand bed part.
Check it out!
