    New tank idea.

Okay this is an idea for my next tank that I have been toying with. I would like to have a cube tank (20.5 x 18.5 x 21.5) with just an anemone and two black and white Clowns. For the substrate I want to use Tahitian Moon Sand or maybe Gray Coast Calcite. I do not want to use live rock, the reason being I do not want coralline algae, so I am looking at alternative like black tumbled glass slag or inert stone. I want to perch the anemone, a very vibrant purple, red or green animal, on the rock and I know it may not stay there. I will need a small cleaning crew, but a very inconspicuous one at that.

Any ideas or suggestions on lighting, filtration, anemone etc..?

BTA is the best anemone to keep in our tanks, but it comes with a warning!

It made me think how difficult it must be to take it out if it got that big.

Carefully mate! Very carefully (and with thick rubber gloves)!

i like those acrylic zero edge tanks. you would have to hang a light above it, but with only one anemone and a couple fish you wouldnt need much wattage. however, a metal halide still produces the best lighting. illuminating it up from the bottom somehow would be awesome for an ambient night light effect. i saw a neat 20 watt led light that changes colors very gradually at spencers in the local mall. that would be perfect.
anyway, design wise, that kind of species tank would be cool, but a lot of money for not much to look at...
