Confused? I was.

According to my LFS there is a type of butterfly fish that some have claimed carries marking that resemble an anciet dialect of sanskrit or some such. They even had one almost like the one described - it was blue with white stripes flowing over its body. Quite beautiful.

Anyone know what it was or the origin of this story?

(And yes, there is [potentially] a spoof on the cards, but it'll be on my website, not here.)

And you say you saw this fish and it was a butterflyfish and not an angelfish, right? Not that it makes any difference because the part about resembling Sanskrit is bull.

I figured it was the Koran Angelfish. Your reference to Sanskrit had me confused because I don't think of Sanskrit as being the same as Classical Arabic, which is the language of the Qur'an.

I'm just dancing around the issue mate... trying to nail down the exact fish you know how these dudes can be! As I said, I'm using it in a spoof and I value my life!
