Feather Duster Worm: diet and care

Oh boy. We found what has go to be the scruffiest LFS in existance - but what nice folk and the prices are WAY cheaper than anywhere else locally.

They even offered to keep fish (and other livestock) for several weeks for observation (no charge!) and all the stuff that a good LFS should do. I thought these places where just myths!

She who must be obeyed has her eye on a couple of "feather duster" worms (and this, afer just losing bloody Nemo!) but I'm worried that we cannot be keep them.

So... where do I go from here?

Dr. Ron Shimek discusses feather duster worms in this article. It's one of the articles I linked for you yesterday in the sand bed thread. If you return to that thread, you will find the link to all of Ron's articles. When you have spare time, start reading the ones that interest you. There are a lot of articles on his site so you should be busy for quite some time.

Where would I be without you mate!?

Gene gave me that link of Ron's articles a while back - but I hadn't got as far as the "worm" one. I've offered to track down Ron's articles and post a working list for him to sticky in the author thread.

Actually, this one also helped my partly identify another critter I'd spotted last night (literally). It looks like it might be some form of chaetopterid worm. I just watched in awe as a piece of brine shimp just moved slowly across the tank and under some LR: against the current. I don't know if the worm could have eaten it, but that explains the tentacle. [shudders]

Damn this hobby gets creepier by the day!
