where did it go

For one moment I thought I had lost my mind, stood in front of the tank and kept counting fish, everytime one short! He was my favorite of the temps an electric blue damsel that turned colors as the day winded down. Today he is MIA, no sight of him anywhere, checked filters overflow uynder rocks, he has just vanished, lol. Was thinking maybe crab got him but no sign of any leftovers so to speak. Odd, very odd.

If a crab got 'im - you probably won't see a trace. I fed my last corpse to the crabs and it was gone within hours; probably pulled under the substrate if it's that sort of crab.

Check behind the tank. I had a Blue Velvet damsel that was a jumper! I couldn't believe it. I could only save him once. poor fellow. All though it was alot easier then catching the thing!

I've had a number of mysterious disappearing fish... I've found two of them behind the tank (suicide) and I assume that the others might have landed in front or beside the tank where the dogs might have helped them find the great ocean in the sky....

Ellen, my former blue hippo tang, is now fish jerky behind the tank where I can't reach her. Maybe I should start adding Prozac to the tank....

I've had fish disappear in my tank too....Although, I don't have any crabs other than three small hermits. I DO, however, have an "infestation" of starfish (brittle or serpent) and some clear to white-ish worm looking things that come out of the rock at night.
I think I may have a bristle worm or two, so I bought a 6 line wrasse. But after the second day after i put the wrasse in, I haven't seen it since!
My LFS told me that a brittle or serpent star got big enough it's possible that
the wrasse could have been dinner.
It's cool though....at night, about an hour after the tank lights are out, I grab a flashlight and scope out my rocks. I have never been so amazed in all my life at the things I see in there.
And one things for sure....It's amazing the kinds of creatures that can hitch hike in on a rock!
