I just ordered my lighting so I guess it's official. In a 55 gallon that's by far the most expensive item. I got an IceCap 660 ready made hood with two 50/50 and two 03 bulbs. I plan on running two VHO and two NO bulbs in the "extra" slots until I need more light.
I just have live rock and a few fish right now. I will be adding anthelia polyps from IPSF on Wednesday. Will I need to acclimate lighting with these items? If so, how does one of the VHO 50/50s and adding NO bulbs slowly (every week or so) until I can switch to the two VHOs sound? Right now I am running 120w of NO. |

i hade the same set up on my 55 gal i just set up a 72bow and an using the same lighting
