Angry My Gramma died a terrible death !!!!! PIC included.

So I woke up on Sunday morning, turned the lights on in my 12 gallon nano, and to my horror I saw this . . .

When I pulled out the fish I only got the top half. Seems the brain had already eaten the bottom half. Boggles my mind as to how the fish got caught. Maybe he went to sleep on it?

On the flip side my brain has never looked so plump.

Brian,
Sorry to hear about your gramm, I had the same thing happen with a small yellow tang about 2 years ago. The fish was great one day and half way down my red open brain the next. When I pulled out the yellow tang it reminded me of the cartoon where the cat swallows the fish and pulls out a skeleton.....

I hope my bad luck isn't going your way.

Mark

sorry about you lost, that is a very good pic though. It seems kind of strange that a brain would do that. I guess this might be a good sign to start feeding it krill or silversides if you don't already. I do however have to agree with the others, maybe it had an internel infection and it just drifted over to the brain

Thanks for all your support.

SHOG - Actually I think the pics is pretty cool too. Not something you see everyday.

Mark - God I hope your luck isn't coming my way, BTW my last crocea died this morning. I don't understand, It was doing great, then all of a sudden it stopped opening on Sunday. I wonder if the flame angel killed it. In any event I think I'm done with clams until I upgrade to a 185 and 3 HQI's!!! (A long way away!)

I think I will start feeding silversides as a result of this. I have some I just never do it. (Read: Laxy )

When I first read your post's title, I read it like this:

"My Grandma died a terrible death!!!!! PIC included."

I was thinking, that dude is sick!!! Then I read it again! hehehehe

Too funny. Now that I look back at it I can see the confusion! I agree that would be pretty sick, but then again your curiosity caused you to open it right?

Maybe I should have added the word Royal!!!

While it is bad that you had to lose the gramma, at the same time, we are attempting to recreate nature in our tanks and something like this is very natural. You have to applaude the brain for thaling advantage of the situation, even if it was at the loss of a tankmate.

P.s. I read it as 'grandma' as well for a second.
