Dosing Kalk using Auto Top Off

Hello, I recently got back into reefing again after a 2 yr hiatus from it. Now that I'm back, I want to regrow the coralline in my tank by getting the CA back up to par using Kalkwasser. I did this before using a small Kent drip doser but I would prefer not to go that route. I would like to use my auto top off as the source. I currently have a 5 gallon bucket with RO/DI stored in it which is being used to top off the tank. My evaporation rate is about 4 cups a day. my float switch triggers once 8 cups have evaporated. If I were to add kalk to my auto top off using the recommended 1 spoon of kalk per gallon of RO/DI water, would the amount of kalk be introduced too fast to the system? If so, can I decrease the amount of kalk to lessen the effect? My tank is a 40gal long with 2x150w MH 14K and 50lbs of LR. I'm currently dosing with B-Ionic.

If Im interpreting your question correctly, yes. There is no reason you couldnt mix Kalk at a lesser strength. I run a LiterMeter3 that draws half strenght Kalk from a 30 gallon rubbermaid Brute trash can.
