Hi christian,
Natural host anemone for Premnas biaculeatus in nature is Entacmaea quadricolor, also known as bubble tip anemone(BTA). Having said that, when I kept this fish she was residing in the sebae anemone, or Heteractis crispa for about two years in the 75g tank. This may or may not work for you if you intend to have eventually a reef aquarium. It is possible but also presents some complications due to the space any host anemone requires. The BTA's may potentially clone and become so numerous that nothing else survives in the tank, sebae anemones do not reproduce asexually( at least I'm not aware of any cases) but they can grow quite large as well and demand good chunk of the real estate.![]()
By the way, neither anemone nor the clownfish require presence of the host to live in captivity. If you do decide to aquire anemone, please do your research carefully about their requirements in captivity.
Here;s a good article for starters: Be a Host To Your Anemone
And here's another website with information about anemones and clownfishes.
