Hello , I got a good deal at Buckeye Field Supply. Also, when you have an installation problem they are very quick to help you fix it.

I got the 100 gpd premium. They didn't have the reef systems then. I get all my replacement cartridges from them because they are alot cheaper.

I have a unit from Kent Marine which is extremely powerfull at removing TDS.

I live in Arizona where we have really hard water... day in, day out the TDS reading going in to the unit is around 750- coming out TDS is usually around 25.

Check it out here, this is where I picked up mine...

Good luck,

thanks oktober, I went ahead and purchased a kent marine RO/DI unit from marinedepot. It came quick and looks very well-built.

Except my faucet is not very powerful and gives only 30 psi. The recommended level is 65 psi. Does this in anyway compromise the quality of the water? I know it slows down production tremendously, but does it diminish the quality of water produced?

Can you or anyone else recommend a solution to boost the psi? TIA

My pressure is reading around 50psi on a regular basis...

I do not believe it hurts purity at all, but you are right that it will drop the output- so will really high TDS...

I took mine after I got it up and running, and took the filtered water into a measuring cup for one hour to see how much it produced... I've determined that mine, even though rated at 35gpd actually produces 20gpd...

When I contacted Kent, the rep told me this was due to the unusually hard water in my area...

I'm glad I could help you... enjoy!

Sounds like you'll have to buy a booster pump to increase the water pressure. Without enough pressure, a lot of water will be wasted because it's not being pushed through the membrane.

yea, i heard of booster pump and looked into it. It costs around $150. I would prefer not to waste water, but since i don't have to pay water utilities, i rather save the $150 provided that the quality of the product water is not diminished.

Have you tried an outside line, or using the bath tub faucet? Sometimes this will change the pressure from the regular sink faucets depending on the plumbing runs...

hmmm . . . i'll look into using the bathtub faucet. Although i think it will be hard to find a coupling for that to the RO/DI unit. great suggestion.

Try Home Depot or Loewe's or True Value- they all will have it (a store that sells water beds will have it also...).
