Please don't laugh.......The other day I heard a noice, like something falling down, somewhere in the tank. Like a rock or something. I kind of looked around to figure out what it was, and today, well now I know............. I see some of my Margaritas and Baja snails , are at the end of the flex tubings, from my standpipe drains, which connects to a hose barbs. They don't fit through the hole in the barb, so they are stuck there. What can I put on the holes in the standpipes to sort of screen them out.
In the meantime I am now going to get them out. Thx

Scett, check out Richard Durso's web site at
http://www.rl180reef.com/frames.htm They have a design for strainers made out of light diffusers (egg crate) to keep snails and fish out of the standpipes. I hope this helps!

Thx. I had looked into the eggcrate, but the snails fit through the eggcrate.

SCETT316,you could try the plastic canvas type stuff they use in arts and crafts projects. It has approx.1/8 inch holes and is flexable yet somewhat sturdy.HTH
