    What is this "stuff"

Hello again, I love the advice I get from everyone here.

I have this redish “stuff” that has a bobble attached to it. The bobble never goes anywhere just stays there attached to the stuff. Anyhow, these bobbles seem to be becoming more prevalent. So, I have two questions:

What is this “stuff”? and how do I get rid of it?

Here are a couple of photos.

Yup, Cyano. It is actually a bacteria, and is caused by many things. I would increase my overall tank flow, and decrease the feeding amount.

Ditto on the cyano theory. Next time you do a water change, siphon it out, it is as good of a nutrient export as anything. Follow the advice given in the post before mine and you'll be ok. You may also want to do a few more water changes for the next month or so just for grins.

You can use a hose to suck it up or just remove by hand. This develops because of extra/unused nutrients.

If it doesn't suck off easily, it may be regular green bubble algae with coralline algae growing on top.

Hmmm... now that the tank is full, I could convert the pool to saltwater...
