Bio Blend Food.

Got a new thing of salt and was under the impression that instant ocean doesn't put any free goodies in their salt but I got one. Maybe it's an old batch or something but it came with the food in the picture. I tried it out just to see if my critters liked it and it appears that they do. Has anyone done any research or know about this food because if it's a good "snack" food I'd like to keep using it. I searched the board and couldn't find a mention of it.

Either don't use this food or use it very sparingly. Marine fishes don't eat wheat or soy products and the foods they eat shouldn't contain those. As a once-every-21 meals type of food, it is okay IF the non-marine or land products are less than 10% of the dry weight.

Sometimes 'free' isn't a good value! Check out:

Wow very good read leebca. I appreciate the info. Unfortunately I don't get to hang around the board as much as I used to . Been very busy of late. Thank you very much.

You don't spend hours here???!!! :slap:

I understand about time! You are more than welcome! If you have time, read some of the other stickies in the Marine Fish: Care, Health and Disease Treatment Forum. Post any fish questions you have there.

I notice that you are a mod and also that you are very deserving of it. How long have you been keeping marine aquaria?

Good to be appreciated, now and then. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

My first aquarium (fresh water) was in 1960. My fist saltwater aquarium was in 1968. I have only my father to blame. His place of business was next door to a local fish store (LFS). I'd go to his work to help out and earn some spending money, but would spend all my extra time over at the LFS. My parents never had to worry about where I was. . .They would just call the LFS and tell the owner to send me back to my father's business office.

More information on my background was put into a very early post: A New Forum for Fish Diseases?

Cheers!
